Can anyone recomend any good horror or thriller movies?

Hmmm...I love Sleepy Hollow,Not the flm film, but the WAlt Disney short. It's really good, and when I watch it,It brings abck memories of being scaredwatching it as a child, which in turn, frightens me.I really really like it.

If you want complete blood/gore Ichi The Killer made me cry in fear like a little girl.

Edit: Watch E4 now,The countdown from 100 to the all time greatest horror movie is on,IT will show clips from horror films,I think these shows are great as it gives you an idea of wether or not you'll like the film that your friend thinks is so great.

Well Saw would be perfect, a fantastic film if you can find it is Cube (not Cube2) is fantastic, cult, not a horror though but a guarentee you would like it :D

Yuck!! Those movies are gory and horrible as opposed to actually scary. Such a boys point of view
Scary scary movies:
The Shining
The first Nightmare on Elm Street
Texas Chainsaw is excellent, but quite gory

For those jumpy ones try
Final Destination
Jeepers Creepers

Once you've seen lots of scary movies watch Scream 1 & 2 (3 is crap), cas you get all these really funny refrences that you'd never notice otherwise :D

Edit: sleepy hollow isnt too bad :)

Actually I saw Nosferatu on the Horror Channel last week and it was like the classic of that kind. I also liked Dracula and Night of the Living Dead. For some reason I enjoy aged classic portrayals of evil. Though Scream is good also.

The stuff.
I just bought this on DVD, it's a horror film about a killer ice cream type stuff. :D
probably the worst and therefore best B-movie horror flick I've ever seen

The original Japanese 'Ring' is very scary the first time you see it IMO.

The Omen's not bad...bit dated now though. Don't Look Now is also a classic but don't let anyone spoil the ending for you! :D

ohhh i want to see the new exorcist when it comes out. i cant remember exactly what its called but i think its something like The Exorcism of Emily Rose. When i saw the trailer at the cinema i couldnt even watch.......im such a scaredy cat but i love horror films. lol

Well, everyone's just about got this covered already!

It's a difficult area as people have different fears and excitement levels.....

But the 'Ring' trilogy is good, as are the 'Cube' films (only seen 1 & 2), 'Final Destination' & 'Final Destination 2' and 'Saw'.

If you're going classic (i.e. B/W) then 'Psycho' and 'Cape Fear' are pretty good examples of each.

80's flicks Jagged Edge and Fatal Attraction are also good. Glenn Close does a good thriller!

Hitchcock's classics also live up to his 'master of suspense' title. Psycho has been mentioned, but try The BirRAB, Frenzy (quite gruesome!) Rear Window, Vertigo and North by Northwest. His earlier stuff like Rebecca, The Lodger and Blackmail are also pretty darn good. :)
