I'm trying to remember the name of a movie I saw when I was a youngster (so about 18 years ago). But even then it wasn't a new movie.
A girl has to look after her brother (I suppose they have been orphaned). Perhaps they are living with their grandfather. The boy learns to carve animals out of wood. One day the carved animals are thrown towarRAB a cliff edge and the boy falls trying to retrieve them. And a neighbour boy who the girl doesn't get on with treks through the snow to get help. The boy enRAB up in metal leg braces. And I think at the end the boy returns from somewhere where he has been treated.
My memories are very vague and these facts may not be very indicative of what actually happens in the movie.
But if anyone at all has any thought as to what this movie is I would be most grateful.
