Can anyone help??? What is this film I am thinking of?!

Does anyone recognise this film? I watched it about 2 years ago late at night and just can't remember the name but would love to see it again! It all happens during one night. This guy meets a girl and goes late at night to visit her and she becomes a bit strange so he decides to leave. He gets to the subway station and he has enough fare to get home but it is just after midnight and the fares went up as of midnight that day so the ticket guy wont let him on (I always remembered that part). Anyway he spenRAB most of the film trying to get home but bumps into all sorts of people and enRAB up in weird situations like people mistaking him for a criminal and chasing him. Sorry if this is a bit vague but it has always bugged me and I would love to see it again. The only famous face I can remember in it was Teri Garr who played a girl he met in a bar?? If anyone recognises any of this, please let me know! Thanks.

Judging by your description of the film I'd say it is called "After Hours". It stars Griffin Dunne & Rosanna Arquette, directed by Martin Scorcese made in 1985.

Yeti, thanks for your help. Yes that was the movie I was talking about. Sometimes you see a film and it stays with you for a long time, but I just didnt know where to start looking! Looks like it got a great review from the reviewer as well so I would definitely recommmend it.
