Can anyone help me with my HTC p3400?

ok. Here's the problem. I can use it properly and it works just fine with calls and messages and all the other stuff, but, when I open media player. and I play something. any kind of file extension. it only runs for about a few seconds to 5 minutes max, then the phone shuts down. And when I turn it on again, it says the battery is low. and if I just wait it out for about a few minutes. It's running fine again. It only happens when I play something on the media player. -HTC p3400
