Can anyone help me understand why my boyfriend is being weird?

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 months and when we started dating we would see and talk to each other every day, mostly because he kept pressing me to even though I wasn't used to it with any of my other boyfriends, well now some time has gone on and on some days he won't even send me a text message or respond to one I write to him. I understand that he's busy because he has a job, but I'm confused as to why he doesn't seem to be as into me as he was earlier on in the relationship. Today my friend called him, because he didn't attend a party that she held that he said he was going to the day before, and I sent him a text at around the same time. He called her back a few hours later and they briefly chatted but he never responded to my text. Later in class I text him again asking if I could have what he borrowed back. His only response was a "yep". I don't know what to do. Am I being too paranoid and emotional over nothing? Is this normal for a guy? I want to fix whatever happened between us, but I don't know how. Any help would be appreciated.
