Predict what would happen if most of the ribosomes in a cell stopped functionning. Explain why.

Ribosomes iether free ones of assembled on the endoplasmic reticulum are vital organelles in protein synthesis as they arrange free amino acids into polypeptide chains- proteins.....therefore no DNS replication, enzymes that protect the cell or aid in digestion of substances, structural proteins etc can be produced and so the cell dies!

If the ribosomes stopped functioning, DNA replication would fail because they are vital to it.

Probably the main thing that would happen is that protein synthesis would cease. This is because the ribosomes are the structural framework where the mRNA and tRNA function to assemble the amino acids into the protein. No ribosomes, no protein assembly, no life.
