child to Canada? Ok so I'm a Canadian...born and raised...but I've lived in Jamica with my husband since our marriage. This has been our home...and we've been a family unit here.
I'm now trying to start filing him to Canada. Both him and my stepdaughter which is raised like my own.

However I've been getting conflicting answers on the financial part. I've had a whole bunch of people on the Candian immigration chat forum telling me that you don't have to make a certian amount to sponser your spouse..only parents and grandparents and siblings and so on...under the family class. You just have to prove your going to have a way to support them...or a job. And that for me...I just have to prove Im returning to Canada with him..and have a place to stay and a job to go back to.

I already work part time for a Candian company run by my dad..we assist their project here in Jamaica. I have a full time job to go back to...as well as a place to live.

But I don't make the amount required on the Canadian site...although the wage I will make when I go back will meet the requirements.

What is the real truth on the financial part??

Is it different for me because I've lived abroad in Jamaica since my marriage....or am I doomed? Is there a financial requirment for spouses??

This is so baffling...and I'm tired of getting so many different answers. I'd just like a flat out truth answer so I know where to go next in filing these papers.

Thanks so much for your help in advance.
