Can anyone give me some advice for the MSFT bleep test?

I have another multi-stage fitness test next week for the RAF. I need to get level 7.2.. last time I got level 7.. Grr :(.

Anyways I find that I REALLY struggle with this test... I go running regularly and attend military style fitness classes and my running stamina and speed has improved dramatically, however I find the bleep test INCREDIBLY difficult, i'm quite short and have pretty short legs and I find it very very hard to keep up with the taller people.
I read somewhere that shorter people are supposed to do it in 18m, average 20m and taller people 22m to make it a bit fairer... but this isnt the case, we ALL do it in 20m.. It is so frsutrating because im not a bad runner at all but I just end up killing myself trying to practically do running jumps to try to reach the 20m before the bleeps. It's not that I even feel so tired I cant physically carry on! I also feel like I waste time with my turns. I have absolutely no problem with the sit ups or press ups but I am dreading doing this horrible test again, does anyone have ANY hints or tips to help me prepare for it or any tips for technique?? I'm desperate! I'd love to be able to reach like level 10 but at the moment it feels like a physical impossibility!
