I'm trying to figure out exactly what all this means from my great grandfathers grave. My family was very private and my grandfather never spoke about his or his fathers history with WWI or his own in WWII, I'm just trying to find some insight:

I figured it meant he was a private, and in the 47th Coast Artillery Corps? But I'm not sure if I'm correct with that. Any more info would be awesome!
Thank you for the answers, and as for his name, it was Einar Myrus Gjestvang. He was a Norwegian immigrant, and fought in WWI.
