can anybody recommend a good historical film

I mean the likes of cromwell.Any period will do
from the romans to king henry the viii.
I watched a man for all seasons and really enjoyed it.But i think of all the old and new ones too cromwell is my favourite one.Are there any overlooked ones out there.

If you like 'horror', l can recommend 'Witchfinder General' which is set in the Cormwell period and actually features him in the film. Stunning locations as well, you feel you're back in that period!

a recent movie with romans in is Centurian. at the cinema now. about the 9th Legion that where attacked by the picts in Scotland.

the film is pretty dull. but good history bit in it.
