i want to make it from the raw ingredients not the one already prepared at the store in boxes, and also if u know how to make a carrot cake

This is an altered recipe from recipezaar.com. It is the best banana bread recipe I have found. I've found that it's so much better when you let the bread sit in the fridge overnight. This helps the sugar in the bread cool and really makes it sweet and yummy. I don't add as much sugar as the recipe calls for because the applesauce has natural sugar and when combined the white sugar, it makes the bread more like a dessert cake than a breakfast bread. I probably use 1/2 cup white sugar. Mmmm, and I add some chopped walnuts to the top.

Low-fat Banana Bread

55 min | 10 min prep

SERVES 12 -16, 1 loaf

4 very ripe bananas
6 tablespoons applesauce
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup white sugar

1. Mash bananas in a bowl or in a food processor.
2.Add the applesauce, vanilla, and egg to the mashed bananas. Stir until smooth.
3.In a separate bowl, sift together all of the dry ingredients: baking soda, baking powder, flour, sugar.
4. Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir just until everything is completely combined.
5. Pour into a greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center of bread comes out clean.
