can any one give me a complete guide for learning PHP?

can some1 provide me some information about PHP,, about what is php exactly and how to know the output like is there any compilers for it and things like that...
 
like the previous answer, I am going to recommend w3schools.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is the organization that regulates the web programming codes (i.e. HTML, XHTML, etc.).

If there were anywhere to get the information, why not get the most up to date information directly from the source of the codes?
