Can android phones work if you buy them from overseas?

It should be able to work.

It's 3G GSM 850/1900 (this is the Canadian version)
I would call a T-Mobile store ( one with knowledgeable reps) and ask them if a phone is unlocked and is GSM 850/1900 would it work on their network and have all its features.

The only drawback is that it will not be loaded with T-Mobile's software so, you may end up not being able to use the internet on it - which would take away from the coolness factor of having an Android phone! It does have Wi-Fi but, without using someone's network (like your home network or an office network) you wouldn't have the T-Mobile network and couldn't access the Android market without this. Also, other features may not work such as text messaging, etc (please ask your local representative for more information).

It's network: 3G GSM w/HSDPA, GSM 850/1900, HSUPA, GPRS Class 12, WiFi (this is the Canadian version) - you may need this information when you talk with your T-Mobile representative.

Also, just an FYI - There are several Android based phones available through T-Mobile right now; I would suggest checking these out to ensure full functionality. Current Android phones: G1, myTouch, Motorola CLIQ, Samsung Behold II
 
Hey I want to get the Motorola Milestone so it can work on my T-mobile.....but, I don't know if it can work in the USA...becuase I am getting it from Germany.
