public schools? Assignment: Compare and contrast Darwin's view of finch beaks and Pinnoichio's nose.

Note that Darwin noted that finch beaks in the Gallapagos changed rapidly with climactic moods which brought abuot different types of foods. Change yes, but back and forth. Such changes seem to be cyclical and the beaks grow and shrink as Pinnochio's beak grew and shrunk and grew and shrunk leaving what one had at the start or is it more precise to say all along. One startes with Pinnochio and ends with Pinnochio. The finch beak starts a beak and does not end a pin oak, but like the beak of Pinnochio is the same adaptable nose century after century.
The most dramatic and true change happened when Pinnochio embranced truth and became really and truly a boy and son. Had he not embraced truth he would been donked big time. Whether Darwin embraced or obcured truth leading to becoming a son of truth or a little lost donkey of the isle of misinterpretation shall be let to the thoughts of the reader.

Yes! In biology class, you will be required to think as though evolution is true (as it should be, since that is what the scientific disciplines have shown in the century and a half since Darwin made his observations). In a religion class, you would be examining articles of faith as though they were absolutely true (which is as it should be, since the best way to view a faith, even if you have only intellectual interest in it is through the eyes of a believer, and for the duration of your inquiry, it's best to try and see through their eyes). In a lit. class, however, everything and anything is fair game. And even if the teacher slants the assignments toward his or her personal biases, it will not diminish the value to you, as a writer of English, of the exercises.

What a slanted analogy, in other words a load of crap! I would be ashamed if I were so dumb

The fact shy religion of Darwinism is acceptable faith based teaching in public schools

Yes, absolutely, but you must explain that it is a THEORY thus is being called the THEORY of evolution. Explain what the difference between theory and fact are and steer clear of any questions that involve religion. Personally I tell my kids strait out, I really can’t answer that, or you may want to ask your parents.

I personally make a mockery of the entire system when I tech all things involving religion in my history class. I make a big to-do about how I am not saying anything is right or wrong… the kids smile, I make them repeat it back to me… they think it is funny and then my but is covered.

THis is idiotic and I really rather doubt that any teacher would set this as an assignment. You are trying to compare pinnochio to evolution and natural selection? That is rediulous. if this is a genuine assignment, I reackon you should rip it up and burn it. htere is no intelligence in that at all.

I would take off points for the Straw Man argument. While it is a creative metaphor, the two are entirely different.
