All of a sudden, my clothes are giving me hives, it's maddening! I thought it was fabric softener because i did some tests and washed my clothes wihout it and the hives weren't as bad, but still there. THen i got a little reaction while handling some dusty folders at my work. I tested positive for dustmites but why all of a sudden am i having these pretty moderate to severe reactions? i've gone my whole life being allergic to dust mites (i assume) and always just had a runny nose and a lot of sinus infections and that's it. i'm 29 year old female by the way.
now my whole body itches, my eyes itch (very intensely, can't stop rubbing them) the inside of my ears are a little itchy and sometimes i feel warm when all of this is happening and have bouts of shortness of breath.
i read about anaphalatic shock, but doesn't that occur very rapidly and i'd basically know it if i was havig that right? or can it creep up on you?
also, i have a dog but he has never seemed to bother me allergy wise. he lays around on my clothes a lot. could i have JUST developed an allergy to him after having him for 9 years? i've also found a couple of those clothes moths in my drawers before. could it be them??? i'm desperate to get answers. going to the doc soon.
thanks for any help.
