I recently installed my brand new JBL 10" subs with a brand new 800W sony explode amp and it was installed at best buy. BUT the bass sucks, there is close to nothing coming form the bass, the guy at best buy says its my box that i have (But i had subs in it before and it worked Just fine) then he says its my alternator but i dont believe that at all. Im thinking that its my battery because its a 1997 Honda civic and it looks like an orginal Honda Battery, and the amp does get power from the battery and my car does start a bit choppy. So think this is possible?

It can't be the battery. When your car is running, the alternator is providing the power.

each sub has different specifications for the type of box it needs, one box might be great for one kind of sub, but terrible for another, so yeah most likely it is your box, is it sealed or ported? some subs sound good in ported, some dont and vise versa.. the battery isnt the problem, but you should replace it your supposed to every few years and if it hasnt been changed in 12 years, you should change it but thats not the problem

and your amp probably isnt putting out like it should, sony amps arent too great, it is most likely your amp/sub/box combination, try to get a better brand amp, make sure it puts out the RMS watts to the sub as they need, and get a better box built and tuned to exactly what the subs need.
