I have been employed at an apartment community for over two years. As of 01/3/2011, a new management company has taken over the management of the apartment community from the prior company (my previous employer) and I am still within a 60-day employee assessment period. I have been struggling with the transition due to the lack of two full-time employees (they chose not to stay on during the transition) and the many new reports and policies enforced by this new company. I also have been diagnosed with ADD and have been ever since I was 9 years old. I do take medication for this but it has not helped since the take over due to a disruption of normal routine functions. I am finding it hard to concentrate and stay organized since I am the only member of management now (since my Assistant Manager was one of the employees who chose not to stay) and I am constantly hounded by current residents for normal things such as maintenance requests, lease changes and renewals, etc. I am literally performing the jobs of three full-time employees including myself. I have over 10 years of experience as a property manager and excellent reviews and references from the former company. I have asked the new company for extra time to complete some of these reports due to my ADD. They have not answered and have began running an ad for my job. I feel that I am being discriminated against because I am not performing well due to the change and my ADD. Do I have any recourse since I am still within my 60-day assessment period? Thank you so much.
