Can an electrical fault cause the engine to run unevenly and sound like empty

tin cans on a Honda NSR 150 RR? I have an NSR 150 RR and I suspect that there is an electrical fault that is causing the engine to run unevenly. While I'm accelerating the engine sounds good but once the revs level out then the engine makes a terrible knocking sound (also when I decelerate). It also seems as if the charging is not consistant - sometimes the battery is fully charged and other times it seems as if it's not charged at all. The battery is about 10 months old and has acid in it. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated.

Consult your manual for octane rating, check the plugs, examine the exhaust system. You could have old gas or a fouled carb. Check all wire terminals for snug fit and corrosion. But start with the cheap easy fixes. It's a Honda, so the problem is probably you(no offense).

The battery is a different issue. Check for corrosion on the wire terminals. A VOM should show about 14 volts from the alternator. Examine your riding habits. Most bikes, the alternator doesn't charge under 1500 RPMs.
