can an antenna be broken on a nextel motorola?

i have a nextel motorola i9 phone..i dont get much reception on it..can it be that the antenna is broken or is it the service?is it possible that the antenna be broke,im assuming it has an internal antenna..someone please help, dont know much about phones..thank you
 
it really depends because if its an internal antenna the only thing to break would be the board because it wouldn't have a wire sticking out to detach from it so unless you've dropped it and i don't mean off the sofa to the carpet i mean dropping it from a distance that will cause major damage i wouldn't worry about parts being broken it maybe that your electronics in your house are blocking the signal (e.x:if you have wifi in home it will restrict cell strength and tvs can interfere too) or you may just be in the feared "dead zone". hope this helps!
