Can Americans or citizens of other EU nations join the British military?

The British army website states that only citizens of the UK and possibly other Commonwealth nations can join.

Are exceptions ever made? Possibly to fill a quota? What if someone is a member of the EU (i.e. France or Germany) but not British citizen?
 
No!
It's the BRITISH Army not the EU Army...
Even though it seems we're rapidly becoming the same thing.

Anyway, I'm in the Royal Military Police & have encountered an American in the regiment; he has lived in the UK for 9 years & became a UK citizen 6 years ago. I think you need to have been a UK citizen for 5 years to join the British Military, although I'm not 100% on this.
 
Americans wouldn't survive 5 minutes in the British army, and you wouldnt be welcome, anyway. We are the best trained conventional force for a reason you pansy. Stay out!
