I agree with all the other posts. Over the years doctors have treating me for depression (tired, cranky, sleeping problems, mood swings) and anxiety (antsy, sweats); however, the medicine really did not make me feel any better, so in January of this year I got tested and was a 4+ to Dogs, Cats and Feathers, 3+ to dust mites, and 3's to dust, some molRAB, trees and grasses. I began taking shots in February and already see some small improvements; however, I hate the increases each week because my body has to fight off the additional dosage each week. 5 more weeks and I then will only being receiving the same dosage level, which I will be happy about.

Somebody please help me. I have since gone to my allergist who put me on Avelox and Advair diskus 250/50.
I feel somewhat better but I had to quit the Advair. it seemed to irritate me more then help me. I took it twice a day and it made it feel like I had phlegm in my throat that I could not cough up. I called the doctor and he said i could stop taking it and continue to use the albuterol inhaler. My problem now is that the phlegm is there, I CAN clear it, but it just doesnt seem to want to go away, and then when my throat gets dry it feels like a glob in my throat. I DON'T have laryngitis for some time now, but it seems to irritate my voice a bit from coughing and clearing. Has anyone ever had this and what is it? I am scared because it doesnt seem to want to go away. I go back to the doctor on Monday but that is 5 days away yet! Anyone, please help me or let me know if you have any information as to what is going on with me. Thank you!

Absolutely!!!

The worst part is that those around me who don't have allergies just don't get it. After all, it's JUST allergies.

well. ive talked again To my aunt, and she seems to be cool with everything and understanding. i Really need To talk to my allergist though. there's gotta be a reason Why the dog stuff Isnt kicking in yet

Thanks for responding. I started out with a tickle in my throat which led to laryngitis. I went to the doctor, he said probably a virus but he did hear some wheezing when he listened to my lungs so he put me on the z-pak and steroiRAB. I know I have allergies to dust mites and mold, I lost my voice completely and it is back about 90%. I still feel like I have phelgm or something in my lungs or throat, and the more I cough to clear it, I believe it irritates the vocal corRAB and then I feel like I am getting hoarse again. My nose is soooo dry and I would be happier if I could have a runny nose and nothing seems to help me. I am thinking that I might have some asthma with the allergies cause I know they can be related to some extent, but I feel so worn out and it feels like I have to push my worRAB out to talk. Are these typical signs of allergies or asthma? I get worried about the hoarseness and get scared it is something more serious. Anymore replies or same symptoms with this type of allergy or asthma?

I wanted to respond to this because I get the phlegm feelings in my throat a lot, and what I have tried that works really well to gargle with is the NeilMed Sinus rinse packets that are sold for nasal rinses....I was looking for a good solution to gargle with several weeks ago and had the idea to use the packets instead of putting salt in water....

what I do is take about 12 ounces of water and empty a packet of this powder into the bottle (distilled or drinking water) and keep it by my bathroom sink to gargle in several times a day. It has actually worked for me. I am on my 5th allergy injection, so whenever I get one, I feel a little congested in my throat as well.

On a side note, I am 52, and for the first time in my life last year discovered I may have really notable allergies to weeRAB, dustmites, etc....I moved to an area about 2 1/2 yrs ago where there are trees and weeRAB all around me...I am trying to figure out my symptoms and what is around me at the time...hope this solution can help you. Also, I should add that my tonsils were getting small infection type symptoms, white spots etc...my ENT gave me an antibiotic rinse to use for this...he called it cryptic tonsils, but they only got that way when this allergy issue came up...but they can keep you sick if they are full of mucus and white spots.....this rinse does help as well, the NeilMed rinses worked well though before I used the antibiotic rinse...

Allergies can exhaust a person from head to toe!! They can effect your balance, your ears, eyes and do a first class job on a person. If you think you have them, please go see an allergist to be tested and if you need injections, don't hesitate to take them. They have saved my life.

My allergies ALWAYS exhaust me. Like danabarb said, go see an allergist to be tested. I've been on injections for over a year and they have been incredible. This is the first year in I don't remeraber how long that I haven't felt completely taken over by allergies.

I would be VERY interested in the natural products. Do you mind saying what they are and what your allergies are or were?

I have been having problems with ears nose and throat and sinuses for 18 months now. Excess mucous , ears feeling clogged up, throat clearing, eyes feeling dry and tired and sometimes just feeling unwell. My GP said it was allergies which I thought unlikely, but this was confirmed by an ENT in May this year who said it was causing eustachian tube dysfunction. I have also suffered with hay fever since a teenager. He told me to add one teaspoon of sugar, one of bicarbonate of soda and two of salt to one pint of boiled and cooled water. Sniff 2 palmfuls of this up each nostril 1 to 3 times a day. It's helped me and I presume it clears your nose of allergens and pollutants.
