Can a Virgin Mobile kyocera wildcard be flashed over to Cricket??...I know cricket has it as the lingo, but i would rather have it in black plus the wildcard thru virgin mobile is like 80 dollars cheaper.......so if this can be done how would i go about it,and would all of the features such as brew and mms messaging work?

I know the Swichback has been done, but I'm not sure about wap and mms on it. I myself never had luck with any of the Kyocera Drivers i found, so I gave up on that deal. But if you had the right data cable and driver I'm sure you could at least get it on Cricket. And with Kwpst maybe get everything working. But somebody has to try it first...

I have heard rumors that the cricket lingos can we accessed. But i don't know if thats true. Now could'nt we make a .QCN file from the cricket lingo. Then Put the virgin mobile phone in crash dump mode. and flash the cricket .QCN (i don't know if it will work and if i am wrong let me know.)

The Healthman has gotten WAP and MMS working on the Switchback. Most Kyocera phones will be a piece of cake with the proper data cable. You may need to use Kyocera's PST though.

However, I've heard that some Virgin Mobile phones are locked for editing/programming.

Im hearing mixed reports.

Two crickets places told me TODAY that my wildcard cannot be flashed to cricket because when they tried, they couldnt get the ESN nuraber to come up and they wernt sure why.

The other place said that they cant do it period because its a virgin mobile.

Ive been looking it up and theres people selling their wildcarRAB saying that it CAN be flashed to cricket and they had it done.

So what do i need to TRY to get it flashed?

I bought a blue tooth thing to try also but im not sure where to even start looking for what i need to flash it.

Is there anyone that can give like step by step instructions???

u need to somehow get the phone into crash dump mode, which stevekice said he knows how to. the phone's firmware has data connectivity disabled in it. So without basically half bricking the phone, it cannot be accessed.

:buddies: i was reading on mobile files about the UTStarcom cdm1450 and this phones data connectivity is locked also but i see that some ppl have already accessed some of it been able to write a prl and wat not, using unicdma i think, its in mobilefiles, under UTStarcom, you may think its off topic but its about the virgin phones being locked and maybe a way to unlock without using crash/dump mode :buddies:

maybe those nice dots on the bottom of the phone near the battery can be test pointed xD ill go and get one and fry a phone for the good of Cricket Flashing Kind

It's a moot point if service programming is disabled in the firmware.

Otherwise, use the Kyocera PST for PRL, WAP, MMS, and Brew. If you can't find the Kyocera PST or can't figure out how to use it, then I suggest you not try any further as you will more than likely permanently damage (brick) your phone.

Ok thanks, thats actually really helpful.

The first halfway decent answer ive gotten all day.

Ill try to find that and see if my hacker boyfriend or his frienRAB can help me!

thanks so much!!! = )
