I have a 2003 chevy silverado V6 1500 truck... I know it can be lifted but can it be lifted without having to change the transmission and engine to a stronger one? I was thinking about getting a 4 - 6 inch lift with a 2 - 3 inch body lift and maybe getting sum 35's on it. If i lift it and put bigger tires on it I don't want to have to find out down the road that my engine or transmission couldn't handle it, but i also dont wanna have to change out my eng/tran just to get a lift.

So can my truck be lifted and what would yall recommend be a good lift size and tire size?

my dad has the exact same car but a V8 and it sounds like a f***ing airplane and i get so embarrsed but it but im sorry i dont know if they can be lifted or whatever you what to know....

It can do it, but it won't like it. 4-6 inches of lift isn't that extreme so you should not have any real issues engine and transmission wise. If you only intend the lift for ascetic purposes, you won't have much of a problem. However, if you really want to go offloading or work the truck, you will need a bigger engine and stronger trans.

The only real issue I can see is the wheels. I do not recommend that you get 35 inch wheels. That will stress the engine and trans. It will also stress other components such as the axles. You should keep the wheels under 30 inches (no more than 25 to 28 inches or so).
