Note I'm talking about a private student loan through Chase, not a federal one.
I am currently already being garnished for 25% of my paychecks from another entity (which I think is Arizona state's maximum). I am barely getting by as it is (constantly sitting 600 dollars in the hole, never knowing if I'll have rent, NO savings or capacity to save). I have been holding on for dear life trying to wait this current garnishment out, and then I can start paying my other loans again.
I told Chase that I would pay them, but they have to wait until I actually have money. (My rent and basic utilities take priority.)
Can they take another garnishment out while I am still paying out on another one in the state of Arizona?
Is it possible to file bankruptcy in this event? I ask because I know student loans don't "go away" with bankruptcy, but I anticipate that the person suing for garnishment will be a collection agency. This is a last resort option, and I've held out so long that I don't want to have to go to that -- at the same time, I don't want to wait so long that that's not even an option either anymore.
