My mechanic is telling me that the reason for a warning light on my dash and overall loss of power is from my car's computer being fried, which he says was caused by my aftermarket stereo system.
It's a 3-series BMW.
Does anyone know if that is a relevant explanation of the computer being fried? Or even if a fried computer is a relevant explanation for warning lights coming on when the car is otherwise fine?
