My tank has a large Angel fish, a silver shark, and 8 neon tetras. I've been wanting to get a Fighting fish since I bought the tank (that was the main reason I got it) but was given all these other fish from a friend who didn't want them anymore.
I've tried researching, but have found conflicting information about whether a Fighting fish would get on with everyone ok (and they get on with him, of course)
Thanks for any answers :)

Bettas dont do well with other fish. I tried it and it didnt work out well. My other fish were all friendly community fish.

personally i would go to your nearest pet shop and ask them, im after a siamese fighter aswell but i couldnt find the right info on the web it was all differing so i asked the fish man and told him my tank situation-what fish and size of tank and he said i was fine to have one, siamese fighters are only vicious when you have two

i put mine in my fish tank with my goldfish and i thiught it was fine but 2 days later one of my goldfish had a sowlen eye where the fighting fishhad been attacking it but i didnt attack my other goldfish so i dont no......sorry

The Betta (Siamese Fighting) should be kept in groups of a maximum of 1 and is compatible with the Bala Shark, Corydoras Catfish, Glass Catfish, GloFish, Molly, Pearl Gourami, Platy, Rainbow Shark, Red Tailed Shark, Swordtail, Three Spot Gourami, Upsidedown Catfish, Zebra Danio.

angel fish are compatible with Black Skirt Tetra, Blind Cave Tetra, Chinese Algae Eater, Congo Tetra, Corydoras Catfish, Diamond Tetra, Gouramis, Kuhli Loach, Lemon Tetra, Mollies, Platies, Plecostomus, Rainbows, Serpae Tetra, Silver Dollars, Silver Tip Tetra, Swordtail

the important issue however is the size of the tank... bettas are extremely teritorial, and if u have smaller tanks around 30gallons or less then expect some attitude out of tht little guy.

Your betta will get along fine in the fish combination you have. Betta fish males are best kept singly and are a fine community fish if kept with non-aggressive or fin nipping species.
