i was standing outside in front of my house and i saw what seemed to be a star. Then i started to move in one direction right towards my house. but then i noticed it getting lower but moving slow. then it stops moving for about 15 seconds then proceeds to move over my house so i moved to my back porch and saw it still moving in same direction not changing its path but now it seemed to have gotten higher i continued to fallow it and then it stopped this time for about a minute then it got very bright and then it flew off to the right for a few seconds and then it was gone. not sure what it was?

Meteors (the scientific name for shooting stars) do not move slowly - they generally streak across the sky in a few seconds.
They can change direction, but not often and only as a result of strong shear winds in the upper atmosphere.

What you saw sounds like a plane - when they are approaching directly they don't seem to move at all, then they can change their flight path and change direction.
