Can a regular user login to iChat and use it in one of the Apple retail stores?

I'm trying to see/speak to my bf who doesn't have a computer but visits the Apple stores in NYC to email me
 
The Apple store might not allow you use iChat while in their stores. They may question him and ask him to leave. I don't think that it would be a good idea honestly.
