I just bought a car in a private party arrangement. I have a signed title and a bill of sale. Now the owner wants to take back the stereo that was in it as well as the speakers and wire. Do they have any right to ask for these things? These items are installed into the car, and they would have to rip them out in order to get them back. This situation happened in NY state, if that makes any difference.
Can a previous car owner ask for a stereo back, after signing title over?
