Can a pregnancy test come back negative if you did not pee on it long enough?

ok so i just took the pregnancy test and it showed up negative but i only peed on it for like a second and the directions said your suppost to pee on it for at least 10 seconds. the test looked pretty accurate but i still havent got my period. so could the test be wrong, could i still be pregnant?
