Can a positive pregnancy test be a false positive?

my doctor said that there are no false positives, only false negatives. so when taking a HPT, if it says yes, you're pregnant, if it says no, you're probably not but could still be pregnant. a doctor can tell you for sure if you are or are not, but if you got the positive home pregnancy test, you are.

Your more likely to get a false negative rather than a false positive. I've NEVER talked to anyone who has gotten a false positive. So my answer to this would be, no it's highly unlikely that it's a false pregnancy.

Just to be sure go to the Dr. and get a blood test.

only in rare cases like cysts or when u read the test after 10min then u can have a false pos.
