I was reading the mental health act and it says a person cannot be sectioned/detained if they have an alcohol problem or a drug problem ALONE - they must have some kind of mental problem AS WELL.
So if a person who has alcohol addiction records or drug addiction records but no mental health problems cannot even be sectioned then presumably a 'normal' person who doesn't have mental health records, cannot be sectioned, this may be a wrong conclusion I am making, but I was hoping someone can clarify this for me, thanks.
