Can a parakeet survive outdoors in Colorado?

I feed wild birds in my backyard. Last month, I noticed a blue parakeet eating with the sparrows, magpies, bluejays and squirrels and taking no crap from any of them. This parakeet comes everyday to eat, but it is starting to get colder here. Once the snow flies, is this bird screwed? Should I try to catch it? Thanks!

Yeah it wouldn't survive winter. It probably escaped this summer. Try to catch it if you can (it might be kind of tame already) and report your find!

No it will not survive your winter so do as suggested try and catch it ,

It was some ones pet so it may be easier than you think.

As for Joshua ,the Parrakeet's in and around London parks these are Indian Ring necked Parakeets and are much hardier than Budgies(parakeet)and have been Living and Breeding in the wild of London for over 30 years.

In london, which is probably about the same sort of temperature as colorado, there is over 30,000 parakeets living in the wild from escaped aviaries. If you want to catch it, you can get special bird catching nets.
