No. That's not a verbal assault and even if it were, there's still nothing to complain. It's poorly informed, but it has nothing to do with how the lawyer practices law and that's all the bar cares about. He's just expressing an opinion.
Intimidation is what some lawyers thrive on. Doesn't do the rest of us any good though. If you have your own lawyer and he's contacting you, then you have a reason for filing a complaint with the bar. That's unethical.
It's not defamation unless it's told to someone and stated as a fact. He's just offering an opinion.
