can a juvenile confuses with out a parent guardian read the rights?

well my son was brought into a room he is 16 years old n detectives questioned him and i was not notified until latter on when they where recording a taped statement my son told me he was read his rights and i guess he waived them since he talk well i was not in the room while his rights was read but later walked in while he was doing the taped statement now i didn't opposed to it because i dint know i could is the confession admissible since i wasn't presents when the confession started n i was never read his right a associate of mine told me he is not able to waive his right i have to i was never read them he was while i was not present i was never read them at all i never gave them permission to interview him i did not know they needed it
