Can a hard drive be saved to a USB flash drive stick?

Is it possible to drag my MacBook hard drive onto my 1 GB USB flash drive stick? Would it save there in the case that the hard drive crashes? I don't have a ton a memory usage on the computer
 
1. You can't fit the whole drive on there.
2. Even doing so, will not fully help you in case of a hard drive crash.
3. Learn to back up your important data properly.
