Can a flash file be controlled from server side using ajax?

I want to design a web application which plot a graph of some variables in flash (.swf) file.The variables are passed from server side.Is it possiblet design such flash file that can be updated using ajax so that whole page do not have to reload every time just the flash file gets updated.?
