I have been chronically anemic for about 10 years. The highest my hemoglobin ever gets to is 11 and is normally about 9 - 10 so not mega low however my ferritin levels are unreadable basically nil. I get a lot of symptoms like extreme fatigue, exercise intolerance, dizzy spells, headaches, recurrent infections, chronic cough which comes and goes, very high resting heart rate etc. My GP said my blood count was similar to that of a person with Thalassemia but that I don't have that. I have been on iron pills for years and my levels hardly ever go up. I am a bit worried that I could have the very early stages of Leukemia. My Dad has a from of Lymphoma which is in the bone marrow and similar to leukemia. I get blood tests every 8 weeks. Would Leukemia or Very early stage lymphoma show up on these blood tests?
