...scientists got started? OK, so you don't believe what 95% of published climatologists claim - that global climate change is due in part to man made causes. OK, so you think the hacked emails are all the evidence needed to negate 30 years of accumulated peer-reviewed, published research. OK so you think it's a conspiracy of the world's climatologists to raise your taxes.

Those all seem entirely unbelievable to me - but please tell me how this conspiracy of scientists came about? Was there some meeting 40 years ago where the scientists drew up this big plan and cirled "tax payer dollars" on their blackboard as the main prize? And then ended with pinky shakes all around? Please explain.
To Linda; Do you have any idea how scientific research is funded?
Deniers; please note this question is not about Al Gore - he's irrelevant to the question. He's not a scientist.
 
If you understand science you would know that what 95% or 99.99% of scientists claim is irrelevant. All that matters is what can be proven through serious experimentation and repeated through testing. At one time, 100% of all scientists believed the Earth was flat. All it took was one guy with the truth to change that.

The cause of this mess is the same thing that causes every mess, government intervention. When the Federal Government started pouring massive amounts of research dollars into the scientific community, it corrupted it. Scientists began to compete for those dollars. This led to a realization that research dollars tended to flow to projects that were presented as major crisis. Soon, we were inundated with one crisis after another requiring more and more research dollars. That gave us the New Ice Age in the 1970's and then Global Warming and now Climate Change.

Add to this, politicians with a Leftist agenda who distrust the free market and see Capitalism as the root of all evil. Together, they complimented each other well. Bigger and bigger government means more and more research dollars.

Rinse and repeat.

It was not done according to any master plan but it did take on a life of its own by creating more and more excuses for government takeover of business and control of our lives while at the same time enriching the Global Warming alarmists like Al Gore and strenghting the UN.

Why are you asking questions about motive and genesis, when the EVIDENCE that the hoax was perpetrated is all over the news now? Its time to deal with those "inconvenient" facts, now.

Check the last enviro-hoax: the supposed Next Ice Age from the 70's......Or the "Population Bomb" stuff from the 60's....Now its Global Warming. The common thread between all of these hoaxes?:

Leftists, proposing more global Socialism, as the solution. More Socialism cures Ice Ages. More Socialism cures Global Warming...get it? See how it works?

Too bad the sheep on the Left swallowed so hard on this one. Now, pride and shame will force lots of you to hold on to bogus, discredited psuedoscience, just to save face.
 
Actually, as a denier, I don't believe that man is the cause of this round of climate change. There is a HUGE difference between man adding to climate change and man causing climate change.

Also, 40 years ago the theory was another Ice Age and heading back into Global Cooling. Finally, peer reviewed articles are not scientific proof. In medicine you need two independent blind studies showing similar results. That is how science works.
 
And first person to say Al Gore gets hit. He only sensationalise the idea. Which was detrimental to cause. But it's amazing people believe this, not jsut amazing pure insanity they can reason such logic as scientists wasting all their lives like this for a lie. Yeh next joke please.
 
I'm probably older than you. When I was in college, the Earth was going to become covered with a gigantic glacier. Now it's going to get too hot? But wait, some have recently said it's cooling. Huh? What science do I follow? The latest liberal trendy version, the one before that? Help me out here.

We finally got to the point where "climate changes" and that I can agree with. Did man cause it? On and on it goes...
 
follow the money, they get paid by the government, so they have to create panic to justify their existence, otherwise the government would fire them if they were just collecting a paycheck for doing nothing, also is it a coincidence that many Left leaning politicians have invested their personal Wealth in so called GREEN COMPANIES?

and the definition of a green company is misleading because you could have a Company fleet of dumptrucks delivering say sugarcane for conversion to ethenol and they are labeled as a green company, yet another Company fleet of dumptrucks delivers Iron ore and they are not GREEN
