Can a bicycle cop take down your license plate number and ticket you for...

...speeding the next time they see you? I was leaving school when a university police officer on a bicycle saw me speeding. He was obviously unable to do anything about it because he was on a bike, but he stopped and got on his police radio. I assume he was reporting my license plate number and car and driver description. Since I have class everyday, I am on campus all the time. It is a relatively small parking lot and I drive an unmistakable car which draws a great deal of attention. Of course I will drive extra careful and slow when I'm on campus from now on, but what do I have to worry about his taking down my license plate number?

It's possible they could even send the citation through the mail. He doesn't have to wait to see you again. If you have a university issued parking permit, they may also just find your car and cite it. If they really want to, they will get a ticket to you through several avenues available.

yes he was taking down ur plate number and next time you get stopped you will get a ticket unless they mail you one
