Can a 700r4 transmission keep up with a 454 chevy engine?

I currently have a 350 sbc on a monte carlo. I upgraded the tranny to a 700r4. I'm planning to upgrade the engine to a 454 big block. I know its going to need a lot of mods from engine mounts, headers, and even the springs. But will the 700r4 project enough power??
 
It will project the power alright. The question is if it can do it for long without breaking. The answer is probably not, even with a mild 454. You need to either have the trans built or get a heavy duty one. The 700r4 wasn't intended to handle all that power.
 
The tranny will be just fine,but are you going to tear the rear end out everytime you push the gas throttle or twist the drive line into with all that power your going to have.
