I have a stereo system that I bought new speakers for. The stereo and the old speakers I had used 4 wires per speaker: positive and negative for high, and positive and negative for low. The low controls the main speakers, the high controls the tweeter.
The speakers I bought only have 2 wires per speaker: positive and negative. If I hook these up to Low, only the main cones work, if I hook them up to High, only the tweeters work.
Is there any way I can get these speakers to work with my stereo?
I tried Pete's method of hooking up both high and low to the same terminal in the speaker. The speakers work for at a very low volume, but entirely cut out when I turn it up. If it helps, im using a 75W, 6 ohm stereo with Sony SSB 1000 speakers that are max of 120W, 8ohm
The stereo is a Panasonic SA-PM193
