Camtasia to record game play?

I was trying to record COD4 game play, but for some reason the playback is a black screen, but I can hear the sound clearly. I searched online and found out that i have to disable hardware acceleration, however the Hardware acceleration tab in Display properties cannot be clicked its grayed out. I can capture video playing on screen with no problem. I'm just having problem recording game play.
