I aligned the marks according to the shop manual and the picture in the shop manual shows the both the install marks and alignment marks. After lining up the timing marks and rotating the camshaft the install marks also line up as the shop manual picture looks like they would even though it does not say they should. When the cams are at TDC both intake and exhaust vales are closed. Rotate forward and the intakes start to open and then after they close the exhaust starts. Sounds right to me. My question is I cannot see any other way this could be lined up or timed correctly. Having never had to pull the cams just to take a cylinder head off this is my first attempt. The cams have more than one mark inside of them so I can see if I didn't have the drawing in the shop manual I would be really confused. Now am I correct assuming this is ok? I am sure there is someone here that is more Tec savvy on 2.2l Toyota engines than me can point me in the right direction. This would be greatly appreciated. Karl
