Camping Help. Pitch With Or Without Electric??

So Im being asking if I want a pitch with or without electric hook up.
New to all this camping stuff so not really sure.
Just going on a 3 night stay with some friends. If I chose electric do I still need another cable to make it a mains plug. An is this expensive or can you hire them. And either way how much??
 
If your`e in a tent, rather than a caravan, you don`t need a `hook up` . Take a butane gas-light or a battery powered lantern. With a couple of reliable torches, for visits to the loo, you`ll be fine.
