Camp Candy

Nope it's the copyright entanglement of BGM that locks cartoons away forever.

I can see this getting a DVD release at least. Or has it been released already?

I remember watching this on NBC back in '89 along with Captain N, Smurfs, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Kissyfur, and the Karate Kid.

It wasn't a bad show and Candy made the most out of it. Only thing I clearly remember was that the long red haired girl was a major snob.

I seem to recall this series being rerun on the (former) FOX Family Channel sometime around 1999 or 2000. I agree we probably won't see it again for a while, though.

Shout Factory seems to have a very stable relationship with DIC (who made the show). As long as they can get the okay from John Candy's estate, I don't see why the show wouldn't get a DVD release at some point.

OH lord...this show was unbearable city. It was just barely watchable when I was a kid...I watched it later on and.....I think god was punishing John CAndy for this abomination when he died 6 years later. YEah, it was THAT bad.

Camp Candy did air (in reruns) on what was then the Fox Family Channel. However, Cartoon Network never owned the rights to CC, which is why it's doubtful that we'll ever see it on Boomerang.

Funny; I remember the red-haired girl (Alex) being more of a tomboy/jock type. Now, the girl with the brown hair (Vanessa), she was the one I remember being the archetypal rich snob.

Gawd, why do I still remember this?
