camera flash please help!?

My camera is 2-3 years old and the flash decided not to work!
The rest of the camera works perfectly, and I have looked over all of the settings, so I know it is not that.
It's an Olympus fe-230
Is it possible to burn out a flash bulb?
What should I do I am traveling in a week and I need my camera!!
