cam belt on ford puma?

i have just bought a t reg ford puma, and it has 38k on the clock. (disabled lady owner!) it has not had its cam belt done. I have booked it in for next week and im paying 130 for the gear and the fitting.

2 questions..

1. is it safe to still drive the car if it needs one changing after 80,000 or 5 years which ever comes first

and..

2. is that a good price?
