Calzaghe v Hopkins

I suspect that it would have been described as racist if Calzaghe had said something like "I've never lost to a black boy".

I like the Executioner. I always have. Why does he have to put
his foot in his mouth - so often?

"I say things other people won't say. Martin Luther King had that.
Marcus Garvey had that. Gandhi had that.

-Bernard Hopkins

I love how he compared himself to Gandhi. That was fucking brilliant.

It's going to be an awesome fight. Calzaghe and Hopkins both
have ginormous hearts. I'm quite fond of Joe's unorthodox style.
It will prolly give Bernard trouble. All night (all night).

I'm going with the beast from Philly ftw. Despite the afore
mentioned foot.

I hold that Bernard has faced better fighters than Joe
is a tad quicker, and he is black.

Hopkins sparked controversy when he taunted Calzaghe by telling him ahead of their April 19 showdown in Las Vegas that he has never lost to a "white boy".

I suspect that it would have been described as racist if Calzaghe had said something like "I've never lost to a black boy".

"Clearly the world knows, and the fans know, maybe not the brits, that I won this fight"
^hopkins, about 10 seconds ago:lol:

Saying he'd "never lost to a white boy" implied that he thinks a "white boy" isn't a challenge to him. It'd make no difference if he had said "whitey" or "cracka", the fact that he brought race into it at all is where the racism lies.
