Calls fail? No internet? READ THIS...

Ok, I just got off the phone with a TMO representative and he stated that they are doing maintenance on the GPRS and EDGE network. This is why you are unable to connect to the internet, IM, etc. As far as the call fail thing, he had me to do a battery pull while he took me off the network on his end and then put me back on. I am now able to place calls. He said that the areas affected in the maintenance are Birmingham, AL; Atlanta, GA; St. Louis, MO; NY, and Nashville, TN. The email alerting the tech guys regarding the maintenance said that this outage should last for approximately 2 hours. It's already been about an hour. After 2 hours, do another battery pull and you should be connected to GPRS or Edge.

This maintenance is occurring in different cites on different days so maybe this will be helpful if and when it affects yours.

I have not had edge service in my area (Anna, TX) for 3 weeks now. I wonder/hope they are doing some really long maintenance on the service. I get edge at work so I know its not my phone.

I'm assuming you already did the battery pull? If so and you are still unable to connect, call into TMO cust service and ask to speak with a technician in Blackberry support. Explain how long you have had the problem and I am thinking they may have to take your account off the network and then put you back on to restore your Edge connection. Hope it helps!
